DIAMONDS HAT This hat pattern is a freebie I picked up in a Rowan shop in England. It was designed to be knit flat and sewn together, but I have modified it for knitting in the round. It looks very nice in Rowan Magpie or any similar wool yarn, and I have also knit it in softer, slightly finer blends. Gauge: approx 5 sts/in over stockinette on size 5 needle YARN: 1 skein (100 gm) Rowan Magpie NEEDLES: Circ and/or DPNs 3-3/4 mm (US size 5) and 4-1/2 mm (US size 7) GAUGE: approx 5 sts/in over stockinette ABBREVIATIONS: M1 = make a stitch by picking up horizontal loop lying before next st and knit into back of it.
