PUFFY STITCH DISH CLOTH

Materials:
Worsted weight cotton yarn, about 120 yards (about 2 oz.). One pair each of
US #9 and #10½ knitting needles.

Gauge: Measured over pattern st., 3½ Stitches = 1 Inch

Size: Generous large size, about 13" by 11"

Directions:
With #9 needles, cast on 50 sts.
Rows 1, 2, 3: Knit across.

Row 4: K 2, *inc. in next st. (knit into front and back of st.), K 1*, repeating between *'s across row to last 2 sts., K 2.

Rows 5 & 7: Change to size 10½ needles, K 2, P across to last 2 sts., K 2.

Row 6: With 10½ needles, K across.

Row 8: K 2, *K 1, K 2 tog.*, repeating between *'s across, ending K 2.

Change back to #9 needles. Repeat rows 1 through 8, 6 more times, then repeat rows 1, 2, 3 again.

Bind off in knit st. Weave in yarn ends.

Row 4:  K 2, *inc. in next st. (knit into front and back of st.), K 1*, repeating between *'s across row to last 2 sts., K 2.

Rows 5 & 7: Change to size 101/2 needles, K 2, P across to last 2 sts., K 2.

Row 6: With 101/2 needles, K across.

Row 8: K 2, *K 1, K 2 tog.*, repeating between *'s across, ending K 2.
Change back to #9 needles.

Repeat rows 1 through 8, 6 more times, then repeat rows 1, 2, 3 again.

Bind off in knit st.  Weave in yarn ends.
