Materials: About 325 yards of Worsted Weight yarn. Number 6 standard Knitting needles, or size to fit gauge. Tapestry needle. Gauge: 5 stitches equals 1 inch, eight rows equals 1 inch. To save time always check your gauge. Cast on 52 stitches. Row 1: Knit Row 2: Knit 7, Purl 1, Knit 36, Purl 1, Knit 7. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have 20 ridges ( 40 rows) Bind off 8 stitches at the beginning of the next two rows - ( 36 Stitches) Continue in pattern until you have a total of 30 ridges ( 60 rows). Row 61: *Knit 2, Knit 2 together, repeat from* to end of row - ( 27 Stitches) Rows 62 - 64: Knit Row 65: * Knit 1, Knit 2 together, repeat from* to end of row - ( 18 Stitches) Rows 66-68: Knit Row 69: *Knit 2 together, repeat from* to end of row - ( 9 stitches) Row 70: Knit Fasten off, leaving a 18-inch length of yarn.
