Critter Blankets

Blankets for large sized rodents like rats, chinchillas, degu, and possibly ferrets.

Size 11 Knitting Needles
Worsted Weight Yarn
Yarn Sewing Needle

Basic Pattern
Gauge: Doesn’t really matter

With 2 strands of yarn, Cast on 23 stitches. Knit every row for about 6 inches. Cast off. Weave in ends.

US Size 8 Knitting Needles
Worsted Weight Yarn
Yarn Sewing Needle

Basic Pattern
Gauge: Doesn't really matter
Cast on 1. Knit and Increase into this stitch. Repeat this row until you have six stitches on your needle. Then knit across these four stitches.

Pattern:
K2, YO, knit across. Repeat pattern until 20 sititches.

Decrease:
K1, K2tog, YO, K2tog, knit across. Repeat row until 6 stitches remain.
K2 together across row.(4 stitches)

Next Row: Knit 2 together across. (2 stitches)

New Row: Knit together and cut yarn and thread yarn through loop and pull closed.
Bind off. Weave in yarn ends with yarn needle.

Alternate Mouse Blanket Pattern (Added 04/17/2006)

Same size Needles
Cast on 15 stitches and just knit a 4" square. Adjust guage for 4 inches across.
